1. I thought this looked like a Buddleia but it appears to have berries:

3. I don’t usually much care for Cineraria (I’m assuming that’s what this is!) but this one I did like as it was quite statuesque. Any ideas as to the variety?
4. My wife liked this plant with the dark flowers but those tending the beds didn’t know what it was. I thought it looked like a dark Tagetes but the leaves weren’t:

I was smitten with that Juniperus coxii. What a stunningly elegant form, like a cascading waterfall.

As is usually and frustratingly the case, the plants on offer in the plant sales areas did not reflect the best plants of the gardens, more like B and Q offerings but I did come away with a pretty Hydrangea involucrata:
We were at Powis last week and I was complaining of similar at the plant store there, which used to actually be very good, when I stumbled across a lovely mountain papaya for £15, a plant I’ve always wanted to try, even more so after seeing Andy’s amazing plant. Sadly, though, unusual finds of this nature at these places have become few and far between.
