Introducing my niehbours to the next new game

Post by Andrew in Germany »

Last year I bought the neighbor’s house and spent almost a year renovating it. It’s a rental property now. The garden was a mess, although it has a massive walnut tree in the back. I‘ve started the garden renewal in the front. A lovely old Syringe tree has been cleaned up and under it I’ve planted a few things including 3 large-ish Aloes which are in flower and pot sunk. I think they’re eye catching. The neighours on the street are curling their eyes already
I’ve grown these for years and every winter I drag them into the greenhouse. Every year they repay me with lots of flowers. I’m not bringing them in anymore, I know they won’t make it, but a nice show till then. I’ve got a few more for next year. It’s taken me a while to figure out what to do with all of my reproductions. I’m letting go…

I want to put an Agave in the pocket in front of the Aloes, but have some reservations as it’s a rental property, there are kids about, and it’s not too far from the street. One poke and a screaming kid, and the fun could come to a halt. Or am I being too ‘nanny state’…?
