Lobelia tupa does like to stretch out. Here it grows away from some nearby shrubs that are only of a similar height.

And talking of weeds I have a teasel that has grown up through a large clump of Acanthus (which is why I missed it). Suddenly I quite like it as all the blackfly has made a bee-line for it.

The appendage on it hangs down 60cm now.

A couple of Nicotiana glauca - this first one is a year old seedling..............


It's doing much better than this one which I planted out last summer...............

This Abutilon has gone from seed to bloom in just under six months.................

Be interesting to see how that Abutilon shapes up over time, I quite like the flower but all will depend on how long it flowers for and how cold resistant it is!

I've yet to find them hardy enough for Oxfordshire but they're so easy from seed that I just replace them every two or three years.

I am under orders to make sure we have some again for next year as that is the view from the kitchen window, so I should have some plants to spare.

Wish the weather could have been kinder today, I was halfway around the dog walk when I realized why my feet had been feeling wet, the sole of my shoe had split!
