I am working my way through several years of neglect in my garden.
I have come across a pot with almost no soil in it, and a twig which in the autumn I thought was dead.
Today it has swelling buds, so I've potted it up and will cherish it until it is big enough to plant out.
The label says Rhamnus imeretina.
Has anyone grown this? Is it a thing of wonder with large 'tropical' looking leaves, or is it just 'another' buckthorn?
It came from PanGlobal whose picture is inspiring, Trees and Shrubs Online less so.

Re: Rhamnus imeretina
I would not describe it as a 'must have' plant but having said that, I decided to plant one out last year.
I grew one in my old garden and was rewarded with its very attractive, bright green, pleated leaves. A plant that needed no feeding, watering or pruning so I'm giving it another go.
My new plant is just starting to come back into leaf.

Thanks Andy,
One for the edge of the garden rather than a 'prime' site then.
It is a relief that I haven't killed it (yet).
