Some Sempervivum (?) ids please

Post by LONGK »

I have a spot in the garden to rip out and start again. So for ground cover I've bought a few Sempervivums (I think) at village plant sales and a car boot.

I would appreciate any ids' for the following..................

Pretty sure that I know this one..................

These two are very similar, but have clear differences..................

Yep agree with DM, the third is one of the forms of S. arachnoideum.

The last two I think are both forms of s. calcareum. I doubt you wil get a full id without flowers.

The first one looks more like a jovibarba hybrid. I have one that looks identical unfortunately the label has warn out but searching my database I think it is Sempervivum Reginae-amaliae.

The second ccould be one of many, not sure you'll be able to ID it.

Thanks Chris!

I must admit that the second one is my favourite.

Had another look at the second one, and wondered if it could be s. walcott's variety. They change colour a lot through the summer, so don't worry too much about the currently colour. They also clump up very quickly.

Clumping up quickly would be good with that one!
