Thanks for the memories. It's ten years since we last went so another visit is on the cards, hopefully this coming autumn.
One of the plants that impressed me most on the island was the Agave attenuata that abound. I bought myself a little one on our return from holiday and I still have the plant despite a few close brushes with death.

Thanks for posting these, Charlie. Really gives a feel for the eccentric nature of the planting and landscaping there.

I don't know who tries Solandra? A chap I know in central London knows of one in Chelsea somewhere, trained on a south facing front wall. He took some cuttings and let me have one but it didn't survive its first winter.
