Found in the greenhouse today

Post by Chrisg »

Looking at the greenhouse today I noticed something on a few of the plants. On closer inspection they turned out to be baby grasshopers.

Sorry about the terrible photo, but they were too small to focus on. There were about 20 of them, took me ages to move them outside. There were a lot of them in the garden last summer, but never seen the young ones before.

They are nice fried apparently, but you need to pull the legs off first, other wise they are a bit crunchy.

Industrial, I am guessing if you had found them they would have been a light snack for Indy.

JJ I have tried crickets when in Thialand, they make good bar snacks, and of course there is lots of interest in insects as food at the moment. Not sure if it will ever take off here,

They are way too small for Indy Chris, even the adults are nothing more than an appetiser for him :D
