Anyone else trying something new (for them) this year?

I'm green with envy. I lost my 'Mona Lavender' years ago in the winter of 2010/11 and have never been able to find a UK source to replace it.
If you take cuttings I'd love to have one please. I can swap with another one of this fabulous genus of plants, I have P. ciliatus 'Nico', P. argentatus, P. zuluensis, P. bojeri, P. oertendahlii and P. madacascariensis 'Lynne' all easy to propagate from cuttings.

I searched high and low for a few years too but gave up in the end. Then in May I found it at Eynsham village plants sale for a quid or two :D

I am trying tree lilies this year that reach over 2 metres in height. I have had some flower and just purchased more bulbs for next summer. The only problem so far has been the return of those bright red beetles that finished off my ordinary lilies years ago.

I've acquired seeds of Aloe striatula and Plectranthus hereroensis to try for the first time, the former from roadside plantings on the cliff road in town and the latter from an eBay seller in Greece.

I had huge problems with the Aloe, just got ripped to pieces by slugs/snails, cold seems to be tolerated. There was a nice stand of it on the Roundabout next to Tesco in Camborne last year, its still there but sadly now submerged under weeds as the roundabout seems to have been abandoned
