So the Isoplexis was planted out in the spring?
Yes, I have a couple of others in pots that can be brought in and to ensure seed production. I keep being told you can do them from cuttings but have never had a lot of luck

Managed a quick whizz around today after our NGS garden open day (busy despite occasional drizzle!)

Cant complain about the amount of flower and scent on the Trachelospermums this year

Imagetrachelospermum asiaticum 017 by charliepridham, on Flickr

I am probably the only one likely to be excited by this but its the first time any of my Schisandra have set seed, no idea where the pollen came from!

Not sure why this does so well in my dry garden?

Can never resist pointing the camera at this, but you really have to touch the leaves to get to know this honeysuckle.

I know this sails under many different flags but braziliensis is what it came here as!

Now if the wind would only drop a bit we would be able to smell it

I think that C.paniculata is the accepted name. That said I am frequently wrong

Anyway, here's my Brug (Grand Marnier)..............

Image

The reason that it is so tiddly (about 30cm) is that it was left outdoors, unprotected in an exposed spot all winter. I was about to bin it but when I removed the pot the roots were deffo alive and growing. It's doing better than my B.sanguinea which received similar love this winter gone.

Another of my seed raised Salvia dolichantha. Slightly darker, less hairy and with less marking on the lip this is another keeper. It also appears to be a more vigorous plant.............

Supposed to have two different self fertile grafted plants of Acca but so far no fruit set, flowering their socks off though

Particularly pleased with the Schizophragma as I had to move it last winter to extend a greenhouse

Nothing special, Phormium tenax is a bit too happy here but this is the first year we have had such enthusiastic flowering.

The individual flowers are interestingly scented (hint of burnt toast!)

It has been a spectacularly good year for Phormiums as well as Cordyline and Yuccas!

The time of year has come when the chains start selling off out of/almost out of season stock cheaply so I actually bought something from them - Digitalis "Foxlight Ruby Glow"...............
ImageDigitalis "Foxlight Ruby Glow" by longk48, on Flickr

It remains to be seen how hardy or truly perennial it really is but at £2.99 instead of £9.99 it was worth a go and in all fairness it is a bit of a gem.............
ImageDigitalis "Foxlight Ruby Glow" by longk48, on Flickr

This is stretching it a bit but I'll show it as it is happy in an unheated greenhouse over the winter and then goes outdoors in late spring - Echeveria secunda.................
ImageEcheveria secunda by longk48, on Flickr

Salvia greggii "Blue Note" is looking really good right now..............

Lilium formosanum var.pricei...............

A hardy (since 2014) Abutilon hybrid.............
ImageAbutilon hybrid by longk48, on Flickr

Salvia sclarea var. turkestanica really should be seen more...........
ImageSalvia sclarea var. turkestanica by longk48, on Flickr

Salvia urica...........
ImageSalvia urica by longk48, on Flickr

Finally, my third seed grown Salvia dolichantha. It very nearly got dug up because the first flowers looked like this.............
ImageSalvia x dolichantha by longk48, on Flickr

Small and not very appealing I assumed that it was a hybrid with another of my Salvia but then the flowers started to come true. Much nicer and so it remains...........

Good job this thread is not a competition! - here's my mediocre attempts:

My pot of Gloriosa, that I just let dry in the Autumn and water again in the Spring. Of the original (numerous) varieties planted 3 or 4 years ago just a few have remained

Image

Allium Univers - I think there as another thread about "wanting a big one" ... (this photo from 10-June)

Image

and the first year that's I've successfully grown some decent sized Echiums
