October visit to Great Dixter

Always something to see at Great Dixter here are some pics from the garden in mid October lots of colour even at this time of year.

To the exotic garden, very difficult to photo here as the foliage is really dense and you have to brush it away as you walk along. Must have this persicaria ( not the red dragon ! )

Tony - that garden is somewhere I have always wanted to see - hopefully this year......

I haven't managed to get there either, I really must. I like the mass planting of succulents, they often call them succulent reefs. But they are too much work.

Looks a must see place, bit off the beaten track from here but I must make the effort

It is a wonderful garden and well worth the trip although it is a few years since I last went (Christpher Lloyd was still alive).
I was most impressed with his Dahlia collection and the way he combined colours. That Trochodendron puts mine to shame

That Trochodendron Aralioides and Daphniphyllum Macropodum look fabulous together! What wonderful shrubs with all year round interest.

Hopefully the new growth on my Daphniphyllum won't get frosted this year and it will start to bulk up. Trochodendron definitely on the shopping list, will it adapt to my heavy London clay?

A visit to Great Dixter is a must for gardeners of most persuasions.
