Huperzia squarrosa looking for shade.

Post by Stan510 »

My old arbor came down and removed today. Now it's where to put the hanging plants? This was just a single cutting about 20 years now. Last year it suffered a severe drying out. The vagaries of hand watering, but it still looks good. In a temporary spot.

Nice specimen Stan. Looks like your going to have to build a covered structure to hang your shade loving hanging plants. Here I have plenty of shade, just not warm enough temperatures. All my Huperzia stay inside during winter except for the locally native H. sieboldii which is totally cold resistant.

I used a wrought iron aquarium stand for it.. Not as nice as hanging from a tree but least the stems are not touching the ground. It's also now 4' from the spigot. Easy to water!.
