I thought I would bump this thread as I haven't yet got out in the garden with the camera yet this year and its not likely we will be able to go anywhere warm this February - Hope you are all OK?

If the pictures dont have a plant name it means I don' know it, and please dont be shy to correct any that I thought I knew the name of :) (Chad corrected several of the names back at the time)

I think you can imagine the strength of the scent from that amount of Jasminum polyanthum, here I have given up outside as it grows like a weed and comes up everywhere but the amount of flower is disappointing, anyone else have better luck? (and if so what sort of aspect?)

My Cantua is poorly and needs repotting, wish I could leave it out but flowering is too early and its too badly damaged by spring.

What a Sunday morning treat of plants!

056 Isn’t the same as the Bletillia in 057. I think 056 is a South African Iridaceae; Babiana [stricta??]
059 Is a Nerine, John will tell us which!
062 I want this to be a Kalanchoe, I think it is a Bryophyllum, possibly B.fedtschenkoi.
071 I want this to be a Kalanchoe too, but I think it is now Bryophyllum delagoense.
078 has had a name change. Tetradenia riparia now I think.

Clearly Melastomataceae, it looks like Heterocentron elegans to me.

But I can't tell it apart from Centradenia floribunda if you want it to start with a 'c'.

Are they the same thing? Both are 'Spanish Shawl'.

Well, I was going to go with Centradenia, but it's not a family I know well.

I think the Nerine is N. angustifolia but it's difficult to be certain.

Wish my Scadoxus behaved like that!

Centradenia floribunda is what I remember it was before when we had it, I let it die out because it only ever wanted to flower over winter. Finding out what stuff is out of my comfort area is hard enough without my brain forgetting what I thought I already knew!

There were also a great many old large Camellia but as they didn't look as good as the ones back home here I am afraid I didn't point the camera at many (and none were named which may have been interesting)

Although the entrance fee has crept up to 10 euros now the garden is in much better shape and much more of it is under cultivation, for me this is the more interesting of the big island gardens because of the range of different plants they grow.

115 used to be Senecio petasitis, it has been Roldana petasitis for some time now.

130 Wigandia caracasana has been 'sunk' back in to Wigandia urens.

I had one from Hill House and was initially proud to have flowered it.

Nasty vicious thing. I have punished it by not repotting it.

If it puts out leaves this spring you can have it. It would give me space and stop me being stung by it!

Just lightening the gloom! having said that just had a long coffee break in the conservatory which was feeling pleasantly warm so hopefully not long now until spring
