Anisocampium sheareri

Post by MartinNicklin »

Does anyone grow this fern (actually I know some of you will!). I'd never heard of it but found pots of singed plants at Dobies GC being sold off, reduced from £20 to £3! I managed to find one with crosiers unfurling. However, I struggled online to find a decent image of a mature plant in all its glory (or not, as the case may be!). It was only a few quid so if it's an uninteresting fern, I haven't invested much!

Have you tried searching under its 'other' name of Athyrium sheareri?

Kew have that as the preferred name.

Yes Chad I noted that but still few pictures of it as a decent sized plant. Lots is images of the various coloured-leaf Athyroum varieties, a few of which I also have. I expected to find more info. Anyway, I’ve repotted it and already in just 3 days it’s looking much healthier so I’m happy with my £3 outlay!
