Took a walk through Tregonigge Woods in Falmouth and found myself wading through snow

I thought the closeup picture would give it away immediately. They are dandelion seeds that have drifted downwind into this low lying part of the woods, must be thousands of seeds so I'm glad my garden isn't in range.

Umm.
In your picture there is also a 'spent' seed head of a goat willow.
I'm with Charlie on this.
Those are willow seeds.

Andy, unlike you I am downwind of the wretched things and spend as much time weeding willow as Sycamore!
If you are getting your coat I should point out we are now open so you are welcome to come and sit around in the sun, can't offer teas, but chatting from a distance is doable :)
