Moving a large Trachycarpus

Post by AndyC »

Back in early May I moved my big Trachycarpus fortune with the help of a machine (I think I posted about it on the old forum).

I was very worried it wouldn't survive with having to contend with a lot of damaged roots and a very dry summer but they are tough plants and it doesn't appear to have suffered any harm. I was left with a very large hole and a greatly trashed part of the garden where the machine was used so I've spent a large part of the summer tidying up

Apart from an Aralia elata which will go centre right in the new bed I've now got to find some new plants to fill the spaces. No hardship :D

Your Trachie looks fine Andy.

I envy you having the space to put an Aralia elata in as I would love to grow one, but I have no room.

What else are you going to put in the bed?
