I must admit I didn't know that a prickly pear produces such large colourful fruit.

I do like this Bougainvillea

Agaves dozens of them. Have been digging up pups and discarding them.

This is the view from our front porch

Plants that came from Ireland and plants we have bought all waiting for some rainy, cooler weather.

The upper studio is going to become a 'garden room' here are some of the plants in waiting.
Image Hopefully by this time next year the garden will be looking very different.

Are you going to have to plant some shade trees? I was bemoaning yesterday to someone how dry my garden is, having seen your pictures I can see I have nothing to complain about, its going to be a real culture shock after Ireland's green :)

Look forward to regular updates

Yes Charlie, I am going to find this garden a big challenge but the plants I have brought with me from Ireland are nearly all from the Southern Hemisphere or Mexico so I am hopeful they will cope with the hot dry conditions here. We do have our own well on the property so watering them in initially will not be a problem we hope. Will keep you updated with our progress or lack of it.

As Charlie said, can not wait to see what you do with the place. Obviously with my taste in plants, I see nothing but possibilities for all that lovely sun and dry stuff. I am sure given your skills, you will make much more of it that I would though.
