Albuca shawii

Post by LONGK »

This easy to grow bulb produces spikes of these charming wee flowers, followed by lots of seed too. It's easily grown from seed and blooms in its second year (first is possible if sown around christmas time).

Cute little plant.

Is there a white version? I think my mum was proudly showing off one she got at hampton court flower show.

Albuca is quite a large genus. There are many white species (see this page for more................. http://www.pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswi ... /AlbucaTwo)

I bloomed A.nelsonii earlier this year......................http://pushingtheborders.com/phpBB/view ... ?f=4&t=151

A.shawii is very easy from seed and I have some spare if your Mum (or anyone else) is interested.
