I have been growing this for a number of years and have discovered something hopeful about it. Last winter I was too tired, lazy etc to bring it into the greenhouse for the winter. I left it where it was with only a rain cover and the branches of a chopped up Christmas tree laid over top for protection. We had a short period of -7c and a very long period of no sun, permanent rain and cold. It survived unscathed, without a blemish. Could this be a candidate for the garden. At any rate it’s too big and heavy to come in to the greenhouse. So it’ll become a candidate…
