PUSHING THE BORDERS

How many of you have had to think about putting a jumper on recently? our house seems to hold an unnaturally cool temperature all year, something of an advantage at present! the picture is our door this morning where the condensation is on the outside!

Charlie I put the heating on for 1 night a couple of weeks ago.

I am not normally so smug in the winter as we seem to have to burn vast quantities of wood to get the temperature above bearable!

My last house was built in 1771. Had the same issues! Deeply miss the big garden but not the cold!

Wow, that must be a house with bags of character.

Our previous house was built in 1960 by an idiot. It had external cavity walls but they were half full of cement so we were plagued by lots of damp.
The house was part single story and part two story. We had a loft conversion done on the single story part which required a steel supporting beam to be installed. On investigation it turned out that the internal walls had no foundations so underpinning was required. The resulting carnage was indescribable.
As with your previous house, it's redeeming feature was a large garden.

Yes it was very pretty and very quirky. No garden at the front but a very big garden at the back.

Right about now it should be plenty warm in Europe. Same in the east coast USA . The bay area mellow temps per usual.

I think one of the agreeable things we found about the bay areas climate was the cooler night temperatures, it made for getting a good nights sleep on both our visits!
