My Beschorneria yuccoides has recently produced a large flower spike, now well past its best.

Is it likely to produce any viable seed?

Most recently the plant has produced many side shoots araound the base

What happens next?. Will they form a large clump of rosettes, each capable of flowering?. Will the original flowering rosette die off?

Thanks

Those shiny swollen things on the stem are developing seed pods. All things being well they will be jam packed with viable seed. And 'yes' to everything else, too :)

You should buy my book, all is revealed within.

Well that's embarrassing, I have your book and didn't think to look it up. You can lead a horse to water .....
I guess then, that if I don't want the plant taking up more space in a particular direction I can just remove the new rosettes on that side of the plant?
