Stylidium

I see Treseders have a few of these available and claim they are hardy, but does anyone grow Stylidium graminifolium?

It certainly sounds interesting and looks the part, but how easy is it to grow? Is it another one of those impossibly fussy Australasian plants?

I recently bought one and I am planning to put it in our new rock garden. No experience otherwise.

I will be doing the same Maya, that’s if I can find a sunny, well drained and starved spot left in the garden.

I'm not sure it will be very hardy (reports vary), but it certainly is a fascinating plant, shooting pollen at passing bees and disolving unwanted insect intruders. :ugeek:

Ouch!! These really don't enjoy being moved.

My graminifolium was settling in quite nicely, and beginning to develop a flower bud amongst the rather nice grassy foliage, when I stupidly thought it deserved a more prominent spot.
It promptly died :oops: . I have managed to buy a replacement and will try again.

I must stop tinkering, and leave plants to find their own way to the compost heap rather than giving them a helping hand.
