Been a star all summer

Been a bit sparse this year due to being 3 years over due a repot, plus me nabbing cuttings

Sadly, although this looks lovely, like the Cyclemen hederifolium it just says "Autumn"

Actually quite chuffed as I had my first flower last year and got 4 stems of flowers this 8-)

You have to wait all year - but they do look good in late summer/autumn

A few other bits

I am so very fond of Tibouchina, most are dodgy for me outside but this one is reliable

This far inland it has been lousy. My Hedychium didn't even show until July.

Salvia urica has really struggled to do well this year............


Salvia SL411 has all the makings of a good tender Salvia but bloom wise it is struggling too. Cool days, lack of sunshine and the even cooler nights of this summer don't seem to have agreed with it................




The same goes for Sesbania puniceus. These are the first blooms of the year.................


Strangely despite the cool summer Lantana camara has continued to flower really well ever since late May even though it has been outdoors.............

The Canna paniculata that I grew from seed have done well though. The one that I grew in pure horse shino was in bloom by June, this one is the last to bloom and is growing in ordinary MPC. All have been fed regularly................
