PUSHING THE BORDERS

No I planted it out after something you posted about the Calceolaria earlier this year. But I will leave it in place and report back on whether that was a really stupid idea or not !

I often post pictures of the large Macfadyena unguis-cati I have in the greenhouse when its in flower this is the first time I have had it flowering outside.

The first of my Cannas to flower, Canna x 'ehemannii'
The species Cannas I grow tend to 'switch off' flowering if I don't remove the seed heads. This one, being a sterile hybrid, will now continue to flower right up to the frosts which last year only hit the plants in November, so I can look forward to four or five months of flowers.

First flowers on a few new plants in the garden Thanks Charlie.
I love the flower colour but the plants are not very robust.

The Cobaea survived the winter so has really gone to twon this year
I took a cutting from the Justicea earlier in the year and it rooted very quickly and couldn't wait to flowerI'm reminded of the 'Little Shop of Horrors'

I dont have a name for this pale yellow Abutilon , the cuttings came back from Madeira, its not Canary Bird, any guesses?
