That's not the first time that I have heard about CGF sending the smallest plants out mail order!
Mail order does seem to be a bit of a lottery nowadays from any nursery :|
Saying that, I have always had decent quality plants from Edrom Nurseries.

I would love to visit there one day Frank, but it is so far away. You guys down south are lucky to be able to make a day trip of visiting there.Frank wrote:Don't think it's malicious :lol: Just makes shipping easier I guess plus CGF is such a treasure that you can't possibly get annoyed, love visiting every time.Mail order does seem to be a bit of a lottery nowadays from any nursery

Re: CGF and Akamba
We made the trip up there a couple of weeks ago too, Mark. Didn't go to Akamba but popped into Vale after having lunch at a pub in the village. The only other time I went to Vale was just after it opened and wasn't impressed so never went back. I have to say it may have even got worse. The place is a mess and hardly anything is labelled.
I bought a few bits in CGF;
Incarvillea delavayi 'Snow Top'
Euphorbia x martinii 'Helen Robinson'
Podophyllum kaleidoscope
Heuchera 'Southern Comfort'
Heuchera 'Magnum'
I don't know if they have less interesting plants these days or if it's because I have already bought most of those that might iterest me, but I don't seem to spot any special must-haves these days. They certainly don't seem to have the selection of arisaemas that they used to. Still looking for consanguineum.

Adam, it may be worth doing an order this week if you can because Grub and Luciens forum meet is this weekend at Akamba and they usually take in Vale and CGFs too. So stocks may be bought up by them .

Simon, I have read a bit about the potential size of Heuchera 'Magnum' and would like to know know if it lives up to the hype. Let us know how you get on with it please.simon wrote:I bought a few bits in CGF;
